Sally R selected for Skyline Program, NYC

We are super proud to announce that Sally R has been selected as one of the few Swedish companies to participate in the Skyline Program, hosted by the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce New York and The Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten). 💚

The program is specifically designed to introduce Swedish real estate technology to the NewYork State market, with the aim of addressing the ongoing decarbonization of New York buildings. It’s no secret that buildings in New York City account for a significant portion of the city’s carbon emissions, with reports indicating that buildings are responsible for approximately 70% of the city’s total greenhouse gas emissions.

“We are thrilled about this opportunity and the timing is perfect for us, especially given our participation in Climate Week and attendance at Propel by Mipim (Trade show) in New York City last year. We have also recently visited California as part of the Bifrost Summit, and all of these experiences have contributed to our learning and adoption of the American market.”
-Fredrik Tunberg, CEO, Sally R

This is particularly relevant given that, since 2019, when the Local Law 97 was included in New York City Green New Deal, the majority of the city’s larger buildings have been required to accelerate their sustainability measures.
The Local Law 97 mandates that New York buildings must meet new requirements concerning energyefficiency and carbonemissions by next year. The aim is to reduce emissions from buildings by 40% by 2030 and 80% by 2050.

This ambitious timeline necessitates building owners to seek quick and scalable tech solutions, which Sally R is naturally positioned to provide.

Let’s work towards a greener future for the city that never sleeps! 🗽🇺🇸
